At Betera  we strive to maintain a high level of coach/athlete communication coupled with a hands on approach which includes athlete training rides, small group CompuTrainer sessions, one on one skills sessions and opportunities to join training clamps and clinics.


Sarah matchett, USAC Level 1

Sarah is the head coach and owner of Betera Coaching, she is a Cat 2 Racer with over 15 years coaching experience.  

As a college runner who morphed into triathlon and then decided to become a competitive cyclist, Coach Sarah fully understand how difficult it can be to progress in the sport without the knowledge, guidance and expertise of someone who has successfully move through the ranks. With enthusiasm, drive, and personal attention, her goal is to smooth the progress of your development.  


Christina Dannen. attended the University of Arkansas graduating in 2012 with a Bachelors degree in Dietetics.  In 2013, she completed her dietetic internship with Western Carolina University and went on to complete a Masters in Nutrition from Western Carolina University.  

Christina enjoys playing with her dogs, Gidget and Rosie, working out, baking, hiking, reading a good book, and being around friends and family!


Nick Able, USAC Level 3

 Nick is a USA Cycling Level 3 Coach, and an active racer in both road and cyclocross. 

Nick can help you overcome weak spots in your riding, regardless of experience or ability. If you’ve a nagging urge or desperate desire to achieve something in cycling, he can help no matter how big or how small.


Dr. Reuben Howden, USAC LEvel 1 

 Reuben comes to Betera Coaching with 30 years experience in training and racing. Reuben first started coaching while working as an Exercise Physiologist for the British Cycling Federation in the late 90's. He currently holds a Ph.D. in Human Physiology and teaches Exercise Physiology at UNC Charlotte.
